Niagara Falls
Seeing the power of falls up close around the Niagara river.
USA
We visited Niagara Falls on both the Canada and US side of the Niagara river. The international border for Canada and the US cuts through the falls.
This natural wonder is made up of three main waterfalls. Horseshoe falls, American falls, and Bridal Veil falls. As we were travelling across the US we arrived our first day on the US side and visited the Niagara Falls state park. We drove to the park from our hotel and parking was $10 USD for the day at the time of our visit.
We were visiting in the fall so the weather was quite variable. With a light sprinkle as well as moments of sunshine as the clouds moved across the sky.
Aliya enjoyed the noise and walking in the small puddles left on the trail near the falls.

The state park has a variety of paths and walkways travelling up and down the river. Aliya enjoyed walking with her umbrella and we even found the park photo spot.

The next day we crossed the Rainbow bridge into Canada and walked along the Falls view trail. This gave a spectacular view of the Horseshoe falls and we got some sunshine on this day as well.

From Horseshoe falls we started walking down towards Rainbow bridge. There were many small shops for snacks and other venders along the route. We were even surprised to see that there is a zipline company who offers thrillseekers the ability to view the falls as they travel down along the edge of the river.
We had a great time exploring both sides of Niagara Falls over two days. We found that the US side gave you the ability to stand directly at the top of the falls and the Canadian side gave you the panoramic views of the water as it cascaded down.
Be sure to make a trip to Niagara Falls and see the power of mother nature in action. Happy exploring!

After arriving we walked down the paved path to the Horseshoe Falls viewpoint and were greeted with strong winds and an up welling of mist spraying off the falls as they cascaded down to the river below.
Next we walked over to the American Falls and Bridal Veil falls. With the unique weather we were treated to a rainbow over American Falls.
To end our day we walked up Cliften Hill road. This area was full of themed tourist shops and attractions. Aliya had a great time viewing all the unique sights surrounding this part of the city.
