Visiting Lassen Volcanic National Park
USA
Lassen Volcanic National Park is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts. Located in Northern California, this park is home to stunning volcanic landscapes, including majestic peaks, clear lakes, and bubbling mud pots. With over 150 miles of hiking trails there was plenty of options to explore the park's diverse ecosystems and witness the power of nature up close.
Whether you enjoy hiking, wildlife spotting, or simply marveling at the awe-inspiring volcanic features, Lassen Volcanic National Park offers an unforgettable experience for all. We explored the stroller-friendly Devastated Area Trail at Lassen volcanic national park. Aliya had fun finding giant pinecones while we stood next to giant volcanic boulders that landed in this area. On the trail we learned about the 1914-1917 volcanic eruptions at Lassen National Park.
Recently Lassen Volcanic National Park has been plagued by devastating forest fires. It was evident on sections of the Kings Creek trails that these fires had a significant impact. The flames have consumed vast expanses, leaving behind charred remains and a sense of loss. The once vibrant and lush greenery has been reduced to dead standing trees, creating an eerie and desolate atmosphere.

There were areas of the trail that had managed to avoid the impacts of the fire and near the creek and lake were lush and green with an abundance of local vegetation.
Lassen Volcanic National Park was a unique experience and a varied landscape ready to explore. Happy exploring!
