Crater Lake
Visiting Crater Lake National Park
USA
Our second stop on our national park trip was Crater Lake National Park. We're not sure if she knew how special the views were but at the lookout she was able to pet some other visitors dogs and made friends with them.
Crater Lake National Park is a stunning natural wonder located in the state of Oregon, United States. It is renowned for its deep blue water, which fills a volcanic caldera formed over 7,700 years ago by the collapse of Mount Mazama. The lake is incredibly deep, reaching a depth of 1,949 feet, making it the deepest lake in the country.
Surrounding the lake are towering cliffs, creating a breathtaking and picturesque landscape. We stopped at Watchman peak Lookout and the Phantom Ship Overlook for some spectacular views.
We found that a day at the park was enough to go around the Rim Drive, which offers panoramic views of the lake and surrounding forests. If you would like to stay longer and explore more, there are opportunities for boating, fishing, and camping. Happy exploring!
