Visiting Seattle and Pike Place Market
USA
On a family road trip we had the opportunity to stop at Seattle. Known for its stunning skyline and west coast culture, Seattle did not disappoint. we spent a day exploring the iconic Pike Place Market, where we indulged in delicious seafood and browsed through unique artisanal crafts.
Luckily Seattle's typical rainy weather was nowhere to be seen and we were able to enjoy great views of the city from some of their iconic lookout points. Our first stop in the north of Seattle was Carkeek Park. This is a beautiful park 9 miles northwest from downtown Seattle. The park has picnic tables and playgrounds perfect for family gatherings. The park has a popular slide that is made of rocks and is in the shape of a salmon. Aliya enjoyed drawing on the sand while admiring the extraordinary views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains at Carkeek Park Beach.
We visited the famous Pike Place Market before we had Aliya, didn’t realize it would be such a challenge to navigate this busy market with a toddler in a stroller! Hats off to all the parents doing this with 2+ kids and double strollers!
We made the extra effort as it's such an iconic destination. In the heart of the city, this bustling market offers a vibrant and lively atmosphere. Even with all the excitement, Aliya slept through the first 30 minutes as we wandered through the market.
As we headed into downtown Seattle we stopped at Kerry park to get a view of the Seattle skyline. Located in the Queen Anne neighborhood, this small park offers a picture-perfect vantage point of the iconic Space Needle, Mount Rainier, and the downtown area. The park's well-maintained lawn and beautiful flowers provide a serene and peaceful atmosphere to sit back, relax, and take in the stunning scenery.

After our brief visit to Seattle, it is time to bid farewell to this lively city. Strolling through the bustling Pike Place Market was an experience, it truly captures the essence of Seattle's vibrant culinary scene and is a must-visit for any visitor to the city. This brief visit wasn't enough and we will be back. Happy exploring!
