Kandungaw Peak
Taking in some great views on Cebu Island

Hiking Kandungaw Peak is an exhilarating adventure that takes you through steep cliffs, and breathtaking panoramic views. Located in the heart of Cebu, Philippines, this hike to the Kandungaw peak offers a challenging yet rewarding hiking experience.
We rented a motorbike in the city of Dalaguete and drove the 26 kilometers up through the windy roads to the trailhead. The small villages you drive through are quaint and we spotted many children playing soccer and running around having a great time. There was a sign on the road showing the trailhead to the hike but other than that the beginning of the trail wasn't very well marked as we made our way around some small farmers fields. Then once you began to gain elevation the trail was paved with some stairs to help with the steeper sections.
As we ascended, the trail becomes steeper, requiring you to navigate rocky terrain stairs. As you look back you can spot the trail winding back down the hillside.
So grab your water bottle, pack a snack in your backpack, and adventure on this incredible journey to Kandungaw Peak. Happy exploring!
However, the effort is well worth it once you reach the summit. From the top, we were able to marvel at the stunning vistas of rolling hills, valleys, and the sparkling blue sea in the distance. The beauty of Kandungaw Peak is truly awe-inspiring.
The views were incredible and I was glad I had my drone to capture the sprawling landscape.
