A great hike up to the lighthouse in Mazatlán

A hike up to the lighthouse is a must do while visiting Mazatlán. It is a short (745 m) but steep hike with 336 steps of stairs. The view you get of the city and the coastline is totally worth the effort.

The lighthouse is one of the highest in the Americas and is still in use today. I don't think the lighthouse itself is open for tourism but there is a glass floor bridge that extends out to the side of the hill that you can walk out on to. Just make sure you buy your ticket at the bottom of the hill before starting your hike.

The ticket for the bridge is 30 pesos. However, it is free admission for the trail if you just want to hike to the top without lining up to go onto the glass bridge.

We did the hike in the morning before the heat of the day and enjoyed the spectacular views of Mazatlán and the ocean.
