Busan is typically a summer destination with its coastline of nice beaches and surf, however due to our schedule, we visited in the winter. We were first surprised at the amount of other visitors to this city during this time of year. It seems that Busan is a year round destination for travelers.

Located on the southeastern coast of South Korea, this vibrant city offers a unique blend of culture, history, and natural beauty. From the stunning beaches and picturesque mountains to the bustling markets and delicious street food, there is something for everyone to enjoy. When we first arrived we found the city skyline to be absolutely stunning with several great viewpoints throughout the city. The lights at night were especially spectacular with Diamond tower standing out on the landscape.

The next day we got up early and went to indulge in the local seafood cuisine, especially the fresh fish at the Jagalchi Market. The vendors displayed their catch and restaurants were located all round.

With its vibrant energy, fresh and tasty food, rich history, and stunning landscapes, Busan is a must-visit destination for any traveler. Happy exploring!

We wanted to try the famous raw fresh octopus. We ventured upstairs and saw that they had some in tanks, so ordered a plate to share. The wiggling octopus was an interesting experience and tasted amazing with the flavorful sauce.

We also went out and explored the famous Gamcheon Culture Village, known for its colorful houses and charming alleyways. The Village is very picturesque but also know that it is a very popular local destination, There are often lineups and crowds during the busy season.

As we were there in the winter, long walks along the beach and dipping our toes in the sand were out of the question. But the city did have lots of unique boardwalks and trails to explore on the coastline.

One unique spot was the Oryukdo Skywalk that provided ocean views with the Oryukdo Islands in the background. To protect the glass bridge, they provided booties to slip over your shoes. We also arrived mid-day so the crowds were in full force! Maybe try early or late in the evening to avoid a conga line experience.

Other unique boardwalks along the ocean are the Songdo Cloud Trails. These concrete paths rise above the water creating a unique path to view the water and surrounding areas. There are also lots of local vendors to grab some tasty Korean treats but be warned that the wildlife also likes to try and get a bite.
