We had heard many things about Seoul and were excited to visit and explore this vast city. Seoul, the vibrant capital of South Korea, is a destination that offers a unique blend of tradition and modernity. With its towering skyscrapers, bustling markets, and ancient palaces, the city seamlessly combines the old and the new.
We were excited to explore the bustling shopping streets of Myeongdong, known for its trendy fashion boutiques and tempting street food stalls. As well, we were looking forward to visiting the magnificent Gyeongbokgung Palace, a grand symbol of Korean culture and history. We started off by visiting the Palace and witnessed the reenactments and viewed the amazing historical artifacts and documents that were held in the museum.
In addition to the reenactments many people had visited the Palace in traditional outfits. Janet was excited to get pictures with them and experience the unique culture.

We had a view of Seoul Tower from our hotel. Located in the heart of Seoul and standing at 236 meters tall, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city. One of the most fascinating aspects of Seoul Tower is the love locks. Couples from all over the world come here to seal their love by attaching padlocks to the railings. Each lock carries a special message or date, symbolizing the couple's eternal bond.
The sight of thousands of colorful locks adorning the area around the tower is truly mesmerizing. It is believed that these locks bring good luck and strengthen the love between couples. As we strolled around the tower, we couldn't help but feel pulled into the romantic atmosphere that fills the air. Whether you're in love or simply appreciate the beauty of this tradition, the love locks at Seoul Tower are not to be missed.
Seoul truly offers an unforgettable experience that blends ancient traditions with modern delights. A few minutes walk from our hotel was Myeongdong. This area immerses you in the vibrant atmosphere of Seoul. This bustling district is known for its trendy fashion boutiques, street food stalls, and lively entertainment. As we strolled along the busy streets, we were captivated by the bright neon lights and the energetic buzz of the crowds.
Myeongdong is a shopping paradise, offering a wide range of local and international brands, allowing you to indulge in some retail therapy. Don't forget to sample the delicious street food delicacies, such as Korean fried chicken and spicy tteokbokki, which will tantalize your taste buds. Whether you are a shopaholic, food lover, or simply want to soak up the dynamic ambiance of Seoul, exploring Myeongdong is an absolute must.
