Visiting Tokyo was an incredible experience. We used the metro to get around this busy city of 13 million people. Although it was efficient, we found it difficult to navigate as everything was in Japanese. We were going in wrong directions efficiently. I think we made every mistake you could with the metro. From getting on the wrong platform, to accidently getting on an express train that expressly went pass the stop we wanted. It all added to the experience and the thrill of visiting this unique part of the world.

The hectic pace of the city is really summarized by the bustling streets of Shibuya, I was mesmerized by the sea of people at the iconic Shibuya Crossing. Where the volume of people with places to go just keep moving.

Also in Tokyo, one of the must-see attractions is the Imperial Palace. Located in the heart of the city, this magnificent palace is surrounded by beautiful gardens and offers a glimpse into Japan's rich history and culture. Stepping onto the Palace grounds feels like stepping into a different world, with its traditional architecture and serene atmosphere.

Exploring the Palace grounds, they provide an audio tour to keep you informed as you stroll through the East Gardens, and catch a glimpse of the Emperor's residence. Whether you are a history enthusiast or simply looking to immerse yourself in the beauty of Tokyo, a visit to the Imperial Palace is a must.

Wanting a change of pace in the city, we visited Sensō-ji in Asakusa. This is a must visit for anyone exploring Tokyo. This ancient Buddhist temple, believed to be the oldest in the city, is steeped in history and culture. As you approach the temple, you are greeted by the impressive Thunder Gate with its massive lanterns.

The bustling Nakamise shopping street leading to the temple is filled with traditional shops selling souvenirs, snacks, and crafts. Once inside the temple grounds, you can explore the main hall, where you can offer prayers and admire the beautiful architecture. Don't forget to visit the Asakusa Shrine located next to the temple, where you can witness traditional Shinto rituals. Overall, the vibrant atmosphere, rich heritage, and stunning sights make Sensō-ji a truly unforgettable experience.

The city boasts an array of unique architectural marvels that left us in awe. Among these captivating structures are the iconic Tokyo Tower, the magnificent Tokyo Skytree Tower, the Asahi Beer Hall, and the bright signs of the electric city. Tokyo Tower stands tall with its striking red and white exterior, reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower, offering panoramic views of the sprawling city below. The Tokyo Skytree Tower, a more recent addition to the city's skyline, mesmerizes with its sleek and futuristic design.

These landmarks not only serve as symbols of Tokyo's innovation and technological advancements but also provide an unparalleled experience for tourists, allowing them to marvel at the city's beauty from above.

During our visit to Tokyo, we were captivated by the vibrant atmosphere and rich cultural heritage that this city had to offer. The city's tall skyscrapers and neon lights created a truly unique skyline. From the bustling markets to the serene gardens, Tokyo provided a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity that left us longing to return. Happy exploring!
