The Grand Palace in Bangkok
Visiting the Impressive Grand Palace in Bangkok
THAILAND
Bangkok is an overload on the senses. With bright colors, non-stop noise, and aromas of the surrounding street food, you can feel lost without even taking a step. During our time there, we wanted to visit the Grand Palace. We hailed a taxi and the taxi driver told us that the Palace was closed. We knew that it was a common scam that drivers would tell tourists in order to take them to another destination. The drives would tell tourists that the Palace was closed and drive them to go shopping where the driver could earn a commission. We insisted to be driven to the Palace and the driver relented and took us there.
Visiting the Grand Palace in Bangkok was a truly mesmerizing experience. This magnificent complex, built in 1782, showcases the rich cultural heritage of Thailand. Upon entering, you are greeted by intricate architecture, vibrant colors, and exquisite craftsmanship. The main highlight of the Grand Palace is the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
