With a day to rest between Yosemite and Kings Canyon national parks we decided to reset our Zen and visit the Shinzen Friendship Garden. Located in the heart of Fresno, California, this Japanese-style garden offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere, perfect for escaping the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As we entered the garden, we were greeted by a vibrant array of colorful flowers, cherry blossom trees, and meticulously manicured landscapes. The winding paths lead us through various themed areas, each representing a different aspect of Japanese culture and tradition.

We all took a moment to sit by the tranquil koi pond, listening to the soothing sound of water cascading over rocks. Whether you are seeking tranquility, cultural enrichment, or simply a beautiful backdrop for photos, a visit to the Shinzen Friendship Garden is a must.

The walkways were windy and took you on a journey through the garden and the grounds. With water features throughout the park and a large lake along one side it was a very tranquil experience.

The area had some very lush gardens and wildlife such as the Indian Peafowl that really grabbed Aliya's attention. If you are looking for a relaxing afternoon activity when you are in the Fresno area the Shinzen Friendship gardens are a great stop. Happy exploring!
