We did the trail mid-week so there were only a few other people climbing. If you are going to make this climb on the weekend be sure to arrive early. Take the trail slowly and don't be in a rush as the trail is quite narrow and you need to stop to make room for others on the trail. We got some great views of the water and the surrounding area as we made our way up the trail.
Take your time on the steep section to ensure you have good footing as some of the terrain can be loose and there can be strong winds pushing you around. Below is a short clip of one of the chain sections.

The views at Paritutu Rock are unparalleled as you look around the New Plymouth landscape. Be sure to bring water, and stay sun smart as you hike this challenging trail. Happy exploring!
