Moalboal
Amazing diving and Canyoneering in Moalboal Philippines
PHILIPPINESPOPULAR
Moalboal is located on the west coast of Cebu Island in the Philippines. We were drawn to this area after hearing that it is a destination for scuba diving and unique canyoneering adventures. We booked a 4-night stay and were excited to immerse ourselves in the crystal-clear waters and discover the vibrant marine life thriving beneath the surface.
We kicked off our adventures with a scuba diving trip. We got on to a dive boat and they took us to two sites. The first site was an underwater vertical wall. This type of dive was new to us and we thoroughly enjoyed the fact that we could descend down and had the current gently guide us along the wall of fish and colorful coral. The second site was also exhilarating as we spotting a sea turtle and had an abundance of coral formations and colorful fishes for us to explore.
We also went snorkeling on our own just off the beach as we had brought along our own gear. We were incredibly lucky that it just happened to be during the sardine run and we got to witness massive schools of sardines gathering near the shores moving in sync.
This destination on our trip was an absolute blast! From colorful coral reefs to schools of tropical fish, the underwater world of Moalboal left us in awe. Moalboal is a paradise for both scuba diving enthusiasts and those that want to try the thrill of canyoneering. These were an unforgettable experience and a massive adventure! Happy exploring!

The ocean was full of sea life as we started our dive.
We spotted a turtle within the first few minutes of the dive.
Apart from scuba diving, another exhilarating activity we experienced here was canyoneering. We booked the tour through our hotel and got a guide just for the two of us. On this tour we found ourselves jumping off cliffs and sliding down waterfalls, making for an unforgettable adventure. Our guide picked us up on a motorbike just after breakfast and drove for about 30 minutes to the start of the trail. We strapped on our gear and were ready to conquer the canyons, navigating through waterfalls, natural pools, and rocky terrains. Along the hike there were some unique natural features as well as a hydroelectric dam in a very picturesque setting. After a few hours of jumping, diving, and hiking, we got to relax in a beautiful lake at the end.
