Grand Teton National Park
Visiting the majestic Grand Teton National Park
USA
We visited Grand Teton National park and the town of Jackson in Wyoming in the fall. The weather was still warm and sunny during our visit. With clear skies it allowed us to view the surrounding mountains in all their glory.
The adjacent town of Jackson was also a destination in itself with art stores, live events, and a beautiful town square with each corner decorated with arches made of antlers.
We started our visit at the National Elk Refuge & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center. When I asked the rangers my questions about the local area they quickly directed us towards the side exit where we could spot some deer in the field next to the visitor center. It was amazing to view wildlife immediately after entering the park. we spent some time viewing the deer and went back in for suggestions from the rangers for trails to explore during our visit.
Exploring the town of Jackson was such an adventure. Jackson Town Square was nestled in the center of the town with trees shading park benches inside the square as well as each corner adorned with antler arches. Up the road at the small park in St. John's Campus there was traditional dancing and drumming performances that we were able to take in.
The unique stores in the town also provided many photo opportunities with Bison, Bears, as well as antler wreaths with lights.
We had hoped to see a real moose but only caught a glimpse as one walked through some heavy bushes on the roadside.
The park offers some unique experiences and amazing views from the pristine lakes to the rugged mountains this park is a great stop to add to your list. Happy exploring!
We started our Grand Teton exploring at the iconic park sign and then over to hike around Jenny lake. There is a Jenny Lake loop trail around the edge of the lake that took us to the Jenny Lake Overlook.

At the end of the day we hiked the area around String Lake. Along the trail we saw a Grouse, and Aliya made friends with a caterpillar. The trail had several great viewpoints and a spot where kayaker's and canoer's could launch their crafts into the lakes pristine water.

As we headed out of the park we stopped at the The Craig Thomas Discovery and Visitor Center. This facility provides detailed information on the local area and has a lifesize moose sculpture outside that Aliya had fun giving a big hug.

For a one day visit the rangers suggested Jenny lake and several trails around string lake. Outside the visitor center there were some amazing animal statues and Aliya had fun running and getting some exercise in the adjacent field with Deer eating in the background.
