After a few days of traveling across Northern Australia and stopping at the small towns along the way we arrived at Broome in Western Australia. We expected this town to be a spot to restock our necessities and then continue our way down the coast. However we found that Broom boasts a rich and intriguing history. This coastal town has been shaped by a tapestry of cultures and experiences.

Originally inhabited by the Yawuru people, Broome later became a bustling hub during the pearling boom of the late 19th century. The discovery of exquisite pearls attracted people from all corners of the globe, resulting in a diverse community that still thrives today. The remnants of Broome's pearling legacy can be explored in the quaint Chinatown district, where historic buildings and pearl showrooms tell tales of a bygone era.

In addition to its geological significance, Gantheaume Point is also a beautiful place to watch the sunset. The contrast of the red cliffs against the golden hues of the setting sun creates a truly magical experience. Don't miss your chance to explore this unique destination. Happy exploring!

After exploring the city we made our way to Gantheaume Point. This was a unique place where one can embark on a thrilling adventure of discovering dinosaur footprints. There was no official posting showing exactly where the footprints were. We had to rely on local directions and a few crudely drawn maps we found online to try and find these elusive footprints. Another factor increasing the challenge was that the footprints were only visible during low tide.

As we explore the rocky coastline, we were captivated by the preserved imprints left by these prehistoric giants. These footprints, dating back millions of years, provide evidence of the dinosaurs that once roamed this area. The intricate details of the footprints give insight into the size and structure of these ancient creatures. The vast expanse of Gantheaume Point, with its rugged cliffs and turquoise waters, adds to the enchantment of this archaeological treasure hunt.
