Just inland of the Gold Coast is Tamborine National Park. Known for its waterfalls, picnic areas, and wildlife that you can spot along the parks trails.

We wanted to stretch our legs in the forest after exploring the bustling coastal city and Tamborine National park and its many trails offered a great escape.

The park is split into several sections and we arrived to explore Curtis falls and hopefully catch a glimpse of the worlds largest Skink known as the Land Mullet.

It was a full day of hiking adventures and wildlife spotting, definately make the trip inland from the coast to Tamborine National park and take you time to view each section of the park! Happy exploring!

As we started down the trails we were blown away at the size of the large trees, and just how lush and alive the vegetation was all around us.

As we moved around the different sections of the park we saw a sign at the MacDonald section with some information on the Land Mullet. We started the trail with some excitement that we might be able to spot one of these elusive creatures. As we kept our eyes peeled we spotted a small rustling in the underbrush and spotted the dark creature.

It moved deliberately and hid well in the shade of the leaves and branches. We stopped for several minutes to capture some photos and a short video.
