Sydney
The city of Sydney captured our hearts
AUSTRALIAPOPULAR
The city of Sydney captured our hearts. The bustling metropolis had so many things to see and do it absolutely blew us away. There were miles of waterfront to walk, shopping districts, and your pick of which beach you would like to visit.
We started our journey by heading to the waterfront and visiting the iconic Sydney Opera House. We took a behind the scenes tour and learned all about the challenges that needed to be overcome to get this amazing structure built. As well, we got to have a private walk through the opera house stage and hear the amazing acoustics. Afterwards we walked along the waterfront and the Royal Botanic Gardens. The opera house looked amazing from every angle.
Another waterfront landmark that stood out on the landscape was the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It’s an amazing structure and an impressive feat of engineering. In front of the bridge were the ferry piers. We were able to catch a whale watching tour through Captain Cook cruises.
The whales were absolutely spectacular! The next day we headed across town to visit the Sydney Fish Market and got some unique treats of urchin and sushi.
The whale watching tour was such a unique experience. It was refreshing to take a short boat ride going from a city of 5 million people to a whale watching haven within minutes. As we headed out some dolphins rode our wake and we got to see several humpback whales wave and dive.

The next day we ventured outside of Sydney and went to the Blue Mountains and the Three Sisters Walk. The hike to the base of the Three Sisters was only a few hundred meters and the adjacent town had several unique cafés and bakeries.

The air was crisp and the wind blew the clouds across the sky. The time-lapse shows just how dynamic the sky changes were.

Sydney is a city that has so much to offer. Make sure to give it a visit and plan lots of time in your itinerary for all the amazing activities that are available in the city. Happy exploring!
