We were thrilled to embark on a tour exploring both Paradise Cave and Phong Nha Cave in the Phong Nha region. The tour started by taking us to Paradise cave where we walked up a path to the entrance and then descend into the cave. For the Phong Nha cave we then took a boat up the river and floated into the cave. The tour included a guide and a lunch.

Both caves were truly breathtaking and distinct in their own right. The illumination within the caves magnificently highlighted the formations of stalactites and stalagmites, evoking a sense of enchantment as though stepping into an alternate realm. We were captivated by the sheer beauty and grandeur of the surroundings. The cave is vast, with its intricate formations and stunning rock formations, it is truly a sight to behold.

Phong Nha Cave is the most accessible cave as the entrance is only a short boat ride away from the town center. After we took the boat down the river we were dropped off to wander back out of the cave past massive stalagmites and stalactites.

Phong Nha Cave was discovered in the 1800s and is known as the longest river cave in the world. Along with other caves in the area, it was used to store supplies and as a hospital during the Vietnam-American war. The boats that took us to Phong Nha Cave pictured below.

The features in the caves were absolutely massive and in some areas the ceilings were towering over you like you were in a cathedral.

Exploring the caves in Phong Nha is an unforgettable journey into the heart of nature's marvels. Happy exploring!
