On our road trip in Australia we headed up the east coast and made a stop on the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise. The Gold Coast is a coastal city located in the southeastern corner of the state of Queensland, Australia. It is renowned for its long sandy beaches, surfing spots, and elaborate system of inland canals and waterways. Surfers Paradise is one of the most iconic suburbs within the Gold Coast and is famous for its high-rise buildings, vibrant nightlife, and bustling atmosphere. In addition to its urban attractions, Surfers Paradise is known for its stunning beaches, including the Surfers Paradise Beach, which attracts surfers and sunbathers alike. The waves here are renowned for their consistency and suitability for both beginners and experienced surfers.

We weren't avid surfers but wanted to give it a try at this popular destination for tourists and surf enthusiasts. We booked our lessons with Surf Easy Surf School where we had a short lesson on land and then it was time to catch some waves.

After a day of lessons we then ventured out on our own and went to Burleigh Beach to enjoy the sun, sand, and surf!

Add it to your list of great stops on the Australian East coast! Happy exploring!

Surfing in the stunning Australian waters was an unforgettable experience. We encountered fantastic waves and successfully managed to pop up on our boards, riding them for a few exhilarating seconds before splashing back into the water.
